The Human Life Advancement Foundation (HLAF) is the newly established foundation active in the fields of the education, technology transfer and sustainable development in developing world. Our mission is to develop networks of organizations and individuals able and willing to contribute to the needs of society, as well as in the development of internationally competent individuals. HLAF aspires to become a reference point for creation of knowledge, innovations and technology transfer related issues in developing countries. We support the importance of education in building a knowledge society.

This foundation strives to be an innovative institution responsive to needs of society for innovations, knowledge and technology by supporting fruitful interaction between firms, academia and public sector. We are delighted to announce that we are offering scholarships to those pursuing postgraduates PhD studies.

PowerTek Scholarship 2014

POWERTEK ENERGY SDN BHD and its affiliates own and operate nine power plants and have investments in four power plants across six countries, namely Malaysia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates with a total net generating capacity of 3,981 MW and a water desalination capacity of 16 milion imperial gallons per day. The Powertek Energy Scholarship Awards (PESA) is the Group's CSR initiative funded by its wholly owned subsidiary, Powertek Berhad, to help academically accomplished Malaysian students who require financial assistance to pursue their tertiary education in any displine at public universities in Malaysia.
Applications for the 2014 academic year are now open. Eligibility • 4 principals with a minimum 3As in the STPM 2013 examination, or PESA scholars are also provided with personal development training in the areas of leadership, communication, teamwork and creativity as well as working attachment in various departments within the Group during their study break in the first year.   • Minimum CGPA 3.5 in the 2013/2014 Matriculation/Pusat Asasi programme • Added advantage for applicants who are active in sports and/or co-curricular activities Value of Award • RM8,000 - RM9,000 per academic year • Each award will be for the minimum  period required to complete the course of study. Terms & Conditions Subject to the terms and conditions stated in the Scholarship Agreement. There is no bond attached to the Scholarship. However, as part of the Group's efforts to develop its human capital, scholars will be given preference in respect of employment opportunities within the Group upon their graduation. Only shorlisted candidates will be called for interviews.

YTL Power Scholarship Fund was established with the objective of promoting higher education by offering scholarships to qualified students who are pursuing full-time foundation and degree courses at University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).
